Yes, you read it right. Sperm is good for your skin, well spermine that is. I was sitting at the Townhouse Spa with President, Jamie Ahn and almost spit out my tea when she told me about this new facial the spa was offering cleverly called the "Babyface Facial."

I came to find that spermine is a natural antioxidant that protects against free radicals and is found in places like the liver, and of course, in seminal fluid. Back in 2001, a bio-tech company called Bioforskning in Norway obtained the patent on spermine after it's benefits on the skin were discovered by Norwegian scientists at the University of Tromso. (I wonder how this discovery came about... hmmm...)

Looking for a skin-friendly body wash? Check out AHAVA Mineral Botanic Micro-Peeling Cream Wash. It’s free of Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) (harsh detergents that can irritate skin), and it feels like a treat to use.

Delicately scented with Water Lily and Guarana, this creamy body wash is ideal even for sensitive skin, and contains Dead Sea minerals, sunflower oil and olive and apricot seed powder to gently polish the skin and moisturize.

While I wouldn’t really deem this an exfoliating body wash because it’s so mild, it is nevertheless a great product. The lather and gentle scent are great, and I love that it’s SLS/SLES and paraben-free. The complete AHAVA Mineral Botanic line has 7 different cream wash formulas, and I plan to try more.

With Memorial Day weekend upon us, it’s time to pay special attention to sunscreen. Shiseido Extra Smooth Sun Protection Cream blocks harmful UVA/UVB rays and nourishes skin at the same time.

Formulated with the retexturizing ingredient Xylitol to smooth roughness and Thiotaurine, an antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals, skin feels and looks better after using this product.

And the performance factor is awesome. It leaves skin feeling supple and smooth, doesn’t clog pores or irritate the eye area. With absolutely zero sunscreen smell, this sunscreen absorbs into skin, leaving no white residue behind or greasy feel. It’s hydrating enough that it doubles as a moisturizer. Plus, it’s highly water resistant, PABA-free and endorsed by the Skin Cancer Foundation.

When selecting a sunscreen, SPF 15 is the minimum protection you should look for, but I always aim for at least 30. This baby has SPF 36 and works great.
